Ophelia is selected for the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust Film Festival

Absolutely thrilled to announce that Ophelia has been selected by the Shakespeare BirthPlace Trust's Film Festival: Shakespeare Shorts: Crossing Borders.

The winning films will be viewed by Kenneth Branagh, who will give feedback!

I wrote my dissertation on the practicality of adapting Shakespeare's work to 21st century cinema by comparing Kenneth Branagh and Lawrence Olivier's Hamlet film adaptions. So to have my small thumbprint viewed by one of these Shakespearian titans would be amazing.

Outdoor screening of the winning entries in our short film competition Filming Shakespeare: Crossing Borders. The evening will be hosted by Russel Jackson Emeritus Professor of Drama at the University of Birmingham and film and textual advisor to our patron Kenneth Branagh on all of his Shakespeare films.  Join us as we share a variety of new films and animations inspired by Shakespeare and addressing the theme of crossing borders. Come along and see what Shakespeare’s works have inspired in today’s film makers.
